Learning pronouns in the English language

I speak English. 

Anytime you want to talk about yourself, you say "I." 

Do you speak English? 

To talk to another person, use "you," regardless of whether you know that person or not. 

He speaks Italian. 

Use "he" to talk about a man. 

She speaks French. 

To talk about a woman, use "she." 

It speaks! 

In English, everything except people is an "it." Use "it" to talk about things and animals – anything that’s not a person. 

We speak English! 

Use "we" when you want to talk about yourself in a group. 

Do you speak English? 

If you’re talking to more than one person, you still just say "you." 

They don’t speak English! 

To talk about more than one person or thing, use "they."
